Since childhood, Cars have been my passion, I had always dreamt of possessing a car just like any other average kid. At some point of time in my childhood, I had even wanted to become a bus conductor. I recall those days when I used to passionately collect all the used bus tickets, convert few chairs as seats by turning them upside down to make them look like a bus and drive down in fantasy with my sister being the lone passenger. I did grow out of my fantasy of becoming a bus conductor, but my passion for possessing a car grew all along with me and when I got my first job in 1987, I settled down for a white amby 1979 model. It was my first car and I was very passionate about it. For an average Bengali family the sequence goes like this – House, Marriage and a Car, however my passion for Car made me reverse the trend and it was Marriage, Car and a House – after a long wait. After the Amby, I tried my hands on Maruti, Matiz, Honda City and the latest on the list is a Honda Civic. Before going in for a Honda Civic I was in doubt as to what Car I should buy. Like they say whenever in doubt as to what make of PC to buy, go for IBM (or) whenever you are in a fix to decide whether to bat or field, close your eyes and go for batting, the same way Honda came as a natural choice for me However, to this date I recall my first car – the Amby with fond memories, to the extent that I also remember the registration number of the car. It is just like your first love which you can never forget.
