It was during my association with CMC, my fascination for art had begun, the art camps organized by CMC provided me with an opportunity to interact with many renowned artists of contemporary India thereby triggering my interest to different forms of art.
Enhancing and inspiring me to do a course on art appreciation, I would like to become an art collector representing artists who work on several mediums, I also have my personal collection though they are small in number I would like to collect more of these artifacts and have them showcased. I strongly feel that as an art collector or lover of art one should never go for fake curios and prints. The work done by the artist must be respected and we should never encourage copies or fake models of the original ones.
I have an exclusive painting based on the theme Sokka Gakkai’s mission of world peace; the painting was jointly done by two close friends of mine Ramachandran and Anamika who are now among the famous and busy artists in town. These artistes spent close to 3 months studying the three presidents, Mount Fuji, Philosophy of Sokka Gakkai and Cherry Blossom before starting the work. When the painting was delivered to my house they were almost in tears mentioning that had a heavy feeling that they were parting something which was close to their heart, such is the involvement and passion the artists demonstrate in their work.
Sokka Gakkai Mission of World Peace - by Ramachandran & Anamika
Whenever I see these collections which I have so passionately displayed at my home, I connect to the lives of these great artists and sculptors who have created these marvels and owe my gratitude to them.
It is a great pleasure to just keep watching these creations and subtly recall the hands that were behind creating them.
Some of my collection which I treasure the most.
