Just about 25 km from the city’s koyembedu bus terminus on Chennai- Bangalore highway just after the toll gate .This is the place where our ex Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi  was assassinated. Even a layman would wonder , how such a venue so isolated without many people living around was chosen for Rajiv’s election rally ! My parents in law were  here with us for a  few months for my father in law’s treatment.I took them one day to this memorial.They were moved. This place must be in your itinerary if you are in Chennai for a visit.Well maintained , nicely landscaped  ,the place is so serene .A huge national flag and the graffiti on the walls  symbolizing the developing India will make you ponder ,if Rajiv were alive!
