I fail to understand why the recent scam in Satyam is seen as a satyam scam.  Few months back few associates had to leave the company because they produced fake bills.  It was never called as satyam scam.  Why is it then the fraud committed by Mr. Ramalinga Raju and his family is now being termed as satyam scam ?

Satyam still continues to be a strong company with most of its customers standing by it with great solidarity.  Appreciating satyam’s present financial crisis many of the clients have come forward to make payments well before the due date.  With an enviable resource pool and a customer base Satyam is still a strong company.  Close to around 50,000 associates of satyam has nothing to do with the accounting fraud that happened here.

Sometime back, the terror attacks in Mumbai claimed innocent lives, followed by the accounting fraud by Raju and his accomplices inflicting the  financial mayhem by virtually siphoning off the happiness from the lives of not only satyam associates and their family members, but also so many suppliers, investors both private and institutional and to a great extent the image of rising India. 

Will you still call it a Satyam scam ?
